The pressures on
Swindon Wildcats lose to Wilghtlink Raiders but fight back agianst Milton Keynes
The Wildcats managed to get a win back last night against the Wightlink Raiders after losing 3-2 to Milton Keynes on Saturday night.
With MK on the verge of a top slot in the league, and Swindon fighting for a playoff place, both teams went in with the mentality of the game being a must win.
The game was played at a fast pace straight from the off, with both teams looking for the early lead, and although both sides getting shots on the keepers, neither side managed to find the net.
It wasn't long before we saw the first fight of the game between John Wheaton and Andre Smulter, Wheaton was sent to the sin bin while Smulter was ejected from the game for headbutting.
With three minutes of the first period remaining MK broke the deadlock sending the visitors into the period break with a 1-0 lead. The second period got under way with an equally fast pace, but both sides seemed to have a deadlock with no goals at either end.
MK players took offence to a check from Sitko ending in both teams coming onto the ice which looked like it could of got out of hand but the officials stepped in resulting in nothing happening and the period ended with MK still having a 1-0 lead.
Swindon levelled the score through Kohut with 5 minutes gone of the third period, just 2 minutes later Kohut netted again giving the home side a 2-1 lead.
Mk players stepped up there game and drew level with 7 minutes of the game remaining. Swindon looked for the winning goal but it was MK who scored again to give them a 3-2 lead and the game ended with a win for the visitors.
Kohut took a deserved man of the match for Swindon.
